Photo Perfect: Mario Testino Shoots Anna Wintour’s Passport Photos

It isn't hard to be fascinated by Anna Wintour. The term "editrix" (remember that?) was practically coined to describe her, and she has come to characterize a certain moment in fashion — in a "details of your incompetence do not interest me" sort of way. And with that great power comes great responsibility. For Anna Wintour, of course, that means looking your very best, at all times.
Famed photographer Mario Testino told The Guardian that, when he is in NYC, he has a couple of special duties assigned to him by Wintour. "Every year I go to photograph her for the Met Ball – her, her kids," before going on to say that he was then asked to take pictures of the editor and her son for their passports." This isn't the first time that Testino has lent his lens to his famous friends; the photog also caught Kate Moss's fashion-frenzy of a wedding.

For any other person, this kind of work sounds, well, plebeian — except Anna Wintour isn't any other person. A jet-setting, trend-inventing editor of one of the fashion bibles of the world is certainly afforded some privileges, right? And before those of us who get snapped at a drug store for our travel documents get all in a tizzy, let's be honest: If Mario Testino was available to shoot your passport pics, wouldn't you go for it?
