1 Girl, 4 Looks: Fall Ensembles From The Bay's Hottest Curvy Girl

Can’t relate to the waifs walking down the runway? Then look no further, because local Bay Area blog Girl With Curves packs a serious punch when it comes to fashion inspiration for your bangin’–and very real—body! The site is helmed by curvy and gorgeous San Jose resident Tanesha Awasthi, who’s on a mean streak as of late after beating out stiff competition and being recruited by Tumblr to attend New York Fashion Week earlier this month. And something tells us she’s got a few more big-deal projects out of her sheer and chic sleeve in the very near future. To see what this fashionable local lady was feeling for fall, we asked her to pull together four go-to autumn looks, and dish out some curvy-girl style advice to go right alongside it. Dig in!

How would you describe your style?
"My style is constantly evolving, but I always stay true to classic silhouettes paired with unexpected accents, like unique accessories and bold pops of color. I also enjoy taking inspiration from runway trends and tweaking them a bit to make them my own."

You're absolutely gorgeous. Have any makeup and beauty tips?
"I truly believe in never going to bed without removing make-up, washing your face, and always wearing sun screen. When it comes to hair care, I swear by Kerastase and monthly deep-conditioning treatments for my unruly curls."

What advice would you give to fellow curvy girls when it comes to fashion?
"It's important to develop your own sense of style and pay attention to what works for your body shape. If there's something in particular you like to highlight, like your waist or great legs, go for it! Most importantly, fit is key. If your clothes fit well, you can rarely go wrong with whatever you're wearing, so it's worth taking the time to find a great tailor. I actually get lots of questions from readers about personal shopping services and styling, and I'd love to do both! I'm also interested in partnering with brands in order to help enhance their appeal to a younger, more fashion-forward, curvy consumer."

What brands do you love and why?
"I love BCBG for its curve-accentuating silhouettes, chic classics, and amazing accessories. I also adore Forever 21, H&M, and Zara for making seasonal trends so readily accessible and affordable."

What's your philosophy when it comes to accessorizing?
"Accessories complete the look, so don't be afraid to go all out and express your personal style! Accessorizing is also a great way to add a sense of individuality and excitement to simple ensembles. Right now my favorite accessory is a vintage emerald ring I got during NY Fashion Week."

Michael Kors watch, vintage jewelry, and baubles from Indian street vendors.

What trends are you loving for fall?
"I'm really loving midi-length skirts, capes instead of coats, and the bold colors–like red and cobalt blue–that are replacing fall's standard gray and black palette. I also love that vintage is back in a major way this season!"
