Your Summer Bucket List, Based On Your Sign

The temperatures are rising and the beach is calling our name, but summer doesn't officially start until June 21. In other words, we still have time to lay down some last-minute summer plans — with a little help from our trusty horoscopes, of course.
We'd never let an astrological event determine the course of an entire season. But, as with any major event, it never hurts to look to the stars for a little additional guidance. After all, a little heads up about an upcoming retrograde never hurt anyone. And we're sure that the Geminis, Cancers, Leos, and Virgos out there are itching to know what to expect for their birthdays.
Naturally, all of the signs will experience the same planetary activity this summer, but it'll affect each one a little differently. For example, just about every sign will need to be on high alert for August's lunar and solar eclipses, but there are other celestial events to watch out for, too.
With help from the Astrotwins' 2017 Planetary Planner, we've determined how each and every sign can make the most of their summer. Ahead, discover your astrological guide to the sunny season.

This summer will finally make a team player of you. Partnerships have been on your mind all year, Aries, but those pesky retrogrades in Jupiter (in your relationship house) and Venus held you back from pursuing your other half. Now that these planets have turned direct, you may actually be able to rekindle those flames that have been simmering on the back-burner.

You should try a partner yoga class, a degree program, or that speed-dating mixer your friends swear by. You're not exactly shy, and summer is the perfect time to put yourself out there. Find activities that surround you with strangers — new settings will prompt you to turn on the charm. A little mingling might get you closer to meeting a new lover, business partner, or the perfect roommate.

Mark your calendar for August 21. This day will see a total solar eclipse and a major love opportunity coming your way.

This summer will turn you into a power player. Later this month, the sun and Mercury will camp out in Cancer, which will kick your social appeal into overdrive. You've always known how to wield your influence over others, Taurus, but you'll be especially magnetic now.

You should lean into your star power. It's time to make the decisions you've been timidly putting off all year. Speak up in meetings with the powers that be. Plan your dream dinner party. You'll be attracting all kinds of attention this season, so you might as well make it work for you.

Mark your calendar for August 7. That day's full moon could bring your magnetism to head. Watch out for a promotion or unexpected opportunity around this date.

This summer will be particularly steamy, in a year that's already been romantically exceptional for you. As of June 9, Jupiter is officially out of retrograde (which had quite the adverse effect on your love life) and the time to hold back in potential relationships is over.

You should resume your flirting. Gems can chat their way into just about anyone's heart and Jupiter turning direct is your cue to do just that. Coupled Gems should get playful with their partners, while single Geminis should spend the summer chatting up that crush who seemed off-limits a few months ago. And don't be afraid to play the field. Summertime was made for flings (they just might become long-term after the warmer months, if you wish).

Mark your calendar for July 9's full moon in Capricorn. According to the Twins, this may be the sexiest day of the whole year for you, as it'll prompt you to open up and act on those deep-seated desires you've been nurturing.

This summer will take a turn for the sexy. Mars will arrive in your sign this July, lighting a fire under your libido. You're no prude, Cancer, but this influence from the red planet will be a game-changer for your sex life.

You should experiment. Crabs are normally the play-for-keeps type, but long-term commitment should take a back seat to your more primal urges this summer, Cancer. Reactivate Tinder and restock your sex toy drawer. And could this be the summer you check public sex or sex on the beach off your sexual to-do list? With the right partner, maybe — so don't rule out these possibilities.

Mark your calendar for August 26, when Venus enters your sign and supercharges your romantic side. After a hot and heavy July, you'll enjoy taking the time to woo and be wooed before hitting the sheets.

This summer will bring about the "me time" you've been craving. Mars, Mercury, and the sun will each pay Cancer and your 12th house a visit this June, making the next few months the perfect time to check in with yourself.

You should overhaul your self-care routine. Find a therapist that really gets you, make some new body-positive fitness goals, and set your group chats to "Do Not Disturb." Generous sign that you are, it may feel out of character to put yourself first, but taking a time out now will help you set clearer goals for progress once the leaves start to change color.

Mark your calendar for July 23 and August 21, when your sign will host the new moon twice. Paired with August's eclipses falling in your sign as well, this rare occurrence will give you two opportunities to look inward and draw strength from yourself for changes to come.

This summer will see you trucking along at work and at home. According to the Twins, Saturn has been wielded its influence over your home life for the last three years — and it'll continue to do so until December 2017. As this placement reaches its final months, finding security is the name of the game.

You should seek stability. Tweak your budget to fit your needs, schedule a routine check-in with your manager at work, and make sure you get outside on a regular basis (your inner Earth child will thank you). All this adulting will pay off by the time August 7's lunar eclipse rolls around, when it'll behoove you to have a strong foundation in place.

Mark your calendar for August 12, when Mercury goes retrograde in your sign. Don't let this routine planetary shift put a damper on your plans, but do be aware of it before you make any decisions that can't be taken back.

This summer will put you back in the driver's seat. As of June 9, Jupiter is out of retrograde and in your sign until October, so don't be surprised if life starts coming at you fast. Just remember that you have a firm grasp on the steering wheel.

You should say "no" more often. People-pleasing Libras are no strangers to planners brimming with commitments, but this summer should be about you and your inner circle, so don't feel guilty about turning down non-essential invites. Being a little more selective will save you from missing out on the parties, anniversaries, and opportunities that matter.

Mark your calendar for July 20, the day that Mars leaves your career house. You'll want to pitch your big ideas and network with higher-ups before this date.

This summer will see you taking charge — without taking many risks. Bold Scorpios tend to welcome the unknown, but 2017 has been a bit of a rebuilding year for you, so we can't blame you if you go with what you know in the summertime, too.

You should line your pockets. You've been been pretty frugal all year, Scorp, but it's not quite time to cash in on those savings. Instead, use the summer to get creative with your sources of income. Starting a side hustle that allows you to flex your creative muscles or hunting down unclaimed money could be just the thing to make personal finance exciting. Trust us, even the slightest efforts can add up to major savings.

Mark your calendar for the new moon on June 23. The Twins say that this will be the best day to get away from it all, even if it's only for a few days.

This summer will be your final push before the end of Saturn's three-year cycle in your sign. This period of hard work and discipline has been trying for fun-loving archers, but it won't be without its rewards. Case in point: Summer kicked off with the June full moon in your sign, setting the stage for a Sagittarius victory tour.

You should celebrate your accomplishments. Saturn won't leave your sign until mid-December, but that doesn't mean you can't celebrate a little bit now. Book a cabana at a swanky hotel or splurge on an item you've had your eye on for months — Sags aren't known for their expensive tastes, but rewarding yourself with something substantial will provide that final push you need to reach the end of this Saturn cycle.

Mark your calendar for August 25, when Saturn turns direct after being in retrograde since April. This event hindered your ability to make decisions and tested your patience, but you should be able to move more freely after the 25th.

This summer will see you at your organizational best. Capricorns are known to be master-coordinators, but chatty Gemini hanging out in the sun this month will bring you out from behind the scenes. Summertime is all about taking up space, whether at the beach or in a professional space.

You should shamelessly self-promote. Your professional mojo has been working this past year, so don't hesitate to sing your own praises if you think they've gone unnoticed. This doesn't mean you have to brag about every little thing, but even the most reserved Cap can toot their own horn when they know they deserve it. You probably won't spend much time poolside, but you'll be so busy being your own cheerleader that you might not even notice.

Mark your calendar for the full moon in your sign on July 9. If you've been finding reasons not to speak up for yourself, you'll run out of excuses with the full moon illuminating your talents.

This summer will be your time to shine, as corny as that sounds. On June 23, your everyday life will get a kick in the pants thanks to the new moon, which could prompt an unconventional career opportunity or a major relocation. In other words, you're getting some not-so-subtle hints that it's time to take that adventure, courtesy of the cosmos.

You should get out of town. You've been dying to see the world all year, and nothing's stopping you now. Aquarians thrive when they're thinking on their toes, so don't worry about drawing up a detailed itinerary before packing your bags.

Mark your calendar for the lunar eclipse and full moon on August 7, which just so happen to take place in your sign. Let your dreams — no matter how lofty — take priority on this day.

This summer will put you in mama bear mode. The sun is posted up in your nurturing and maternal house until late June, making your empathetic instincts stronger than ever.

You should play hostess. Make your home the hub of your social circle's activity and redecorate the place for optimal hangout potential (read: customizable seating and cozy lighting). Your private side will remain intact, so don't be afraid of limiting the guest list to your nearest and dearest as summer draws to a close.

Mark your calendar for June 16, when your ruling planet, Neptune, enters retrograde until November 22. You may feel extra-sensitive during this period, but it's also chance to reconnect to your spiritual side.
