San Francisco Cult Favorite, Shotwell, Is Closing For Good

Photo: Michael and Holly Weaver
Many of you will recall Shotwell closing up its Union Square shop in late May. And now, it seems, plans for a new shop in the Mission aren't coming to fruition. Husband-and-wife owners Michael and Holly Weaver sent out an email last night reporting that they're shuttering for good. "We are excited to announce that we are expecting a baby boy! We have decided to embark on this next adventure in the city of Pittsburgh to be closer to family," the note says. "Shotwell is closing its doors after many wonderful memories in San Francisco and with all of you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts." And with that, congrats to the soon-to-be parents and a little liquor on the ground for Shotwell, which has shut down its e-commerce site, as well.
