(Practically) Every Song You'll Hear At The Olympic Opening Ceremonies in London

Nastia Liukin? Maybe. Radiohead? Definitely. With the U.S. Olympic trials heating up, we're still not entirely sure who will make it to the London 2012 Games. But, thanks to a leaked document, we know which songs will make the cut.
The rumored 86-song playlist for July 27's blow-out event hit the Internet late last week, and is only the latest indication of how bonkers this £27 million (or about $42,028,274 in Team-USA terms) three-hour opening ceremony will be. Curated by director Danny Boyle (of Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting fame), the alleged musical roundup ranges from Big Ben's chimes to The Beatles, with a hefty amount of classic rock, classical mainstays, and a few unexpected choices in between.

British favorites like Amy Winehouse, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, and Blur are in the mix alongside more recent U.K. chart-toppers like Rizzle Kicks and Emeli Sandé. But, most surprising is Boyle's choice of showtunes and soundtracks including Bedknobs and Broomsticks, themes from Monty Python and Doctor Who, and even "Food, Glorious Food" from Oliver!. To say the least, it'll be interesting to see how these picks fit into the ceremony's sweeping, spectacular feel.
With the festivities paying homage to both the pastoral and urban aspects of Britain's landscape, a mix of M.I.A., Coldplay, The Kinks, and The Who makes sense. But, the band who will soundtrack the Glastonbury mosh-pit portion of the spectacle remains to be seen. May we recommend Dizzie Rascal?
We're also not entirely sure how the Sex Pistols' "God Save The Queen" will go down with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the audience, but when 500 million people tune in to watch it next month, you can guarantee we'll be paying very close attention, to find out. (Telegraph UK via Paste)
