D.C. may be known for a lot of things, but producing moody, directional menswear isn't one of them. At least, it hasn't been — until now. Earlier this month, local designer Skyler Javier debuted his first 14-piece collection for NativeDanger, a homegrown line of men's separates and accessories. If you missed the private launch party at Redeem, you can scope the full lookbook, shot by Ryder Haske (in a cemetery, no less), right here. The shots are simultaneously dark and dreamy, and we can definitely see some of these pieces making their way to artsy Washington fellas.

With a Kickstarter fund in place (and 32 days left to raise $19,000), Javier has big dreams of large-scale production and national distribution for NativeDanger. "My personal style is often in line with my design aesthetic: functional and minimal, with tasteful inserts of tech [and] a subtle forward slant," he says. Click through to check out the collection; if you dig, you can get in on the ground floor to support a new talent.
