Summer smells of fried chicken. Make that all-you-can-eat fried chicken. Well, at least since 2009, and to celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein and her partner/husband David Martinez — and hey, we’ll buy into that tradition.
Wednesday’s at Michy’s brings a real-deal, eat-all-the-fried-chicken-you-possibly-can event for $36, a dining experience that even the most calorie-conscious might risk their skinny jeans to try. Wait, who are we kidding — go prepared and wear a loose-fitting dress to hide your food baby and worry about the gym later. The Michy’s tradition is back for the fourth year and is now an official local summer tradition that you don’t want to miss. The chicken is flavorful and juicy, delicious and crispy, not the greasy chicken in a bucket that gives it the bad rep.
With all this gorging going on, it's entirely within reason to stop and think to yourself, Wait, won’t I, maybe, need a break from fried chicken? Don’t worry, Michy’s has got your back. All the sides are bottomless as well; we’re talking cornbread, watermelon Greek salad and coleslaw. Eat your heart out...it’s a summer tradition.
