We first noticed Fjällräven when its colorful Kanken backpacks suddenly appeared on hipster backs everywhere. Those boxy bags may have hearkened back to our elementary school days, but we fully embraced them, because they’re so much easier on our backs than a massive tote bag — plus, how cute is that Arctic fox logo?
But Fjällräven is more than just a purveyor of adorable laptop-and-gym-shoe totes. The 60-year-old Swedish brand is known for sturdy rucksacks and the kind of framed backpacks usually seen on serious outdoorsy types — but done up in trendy colors that make it all feel a little less mountain man (or, worse, Burning Man).
