weekend-warrior-november-19-300Chile-y—Turn up the temperature and celebrate all things Chilean with an exhibition opening spanning genres from clothing and jewelry to art, textiles, and even housewares. With joyful, techni-color bursting from the 50-award winning designs set for showcase, there will also be wine and hors d'oeuvres to warm the cockled. Flash them a copy of MUG on your phone and you'll also be eligible for a 10% discount on these Chilean wears! Chill.

Once A Day—You have to pinch yourself to make sure you're not dreaming when you read headlines like this: "An exclusive shopping event, 20% off handbags, and complimentary cocktails." The wonderful thing is that no, you're not dreaming, and that yes, 1 Per Diem is having a discount sale AND giving you free drinks to boot.
1 Per Diem, Friday, November 19, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
End of Century, 175 Rivington Street (between Clinton and Attorney streets); no phone.

She's All That—Our teenage years were defined by a number of pop culture moments—one extremely memorable one being glued to the silver screen, watching Rachel Leigh-Cook descend the stairs to awaiting hunk-of-the-moment Freddie Prinze Jr. in She's All That. Yes, that iconic (ok, it's a stretch) cinematic moment, although somewhat anachronistic, has been the subject of many a hand-clap inducing montage. Head to 92YTribeca this weekend to see some of the best movie makeover montages as well as commentary and tips from a panel of fashion experts.
92Y Tribeca , Friday, November 19, at 8 p.m.
92YTribeca Screening Room, 200 Hudson Street (between Vestry and Canal streets); 212-601-1000.

Do-Wah-Doo—22-years-old and a mouth to rival Lily Allen's, Kate Nash is the UK's sugary-sweet-voiced-but-oh-my-days-will-she-give-you-attitude favorite export. She's about to give New York a massive serving of her ballsy lyrics at The Bowery Presents' Terminal 5 this Friday night, so get in for tickets before they sell out.
Kate Nash, Friday, November 19, at 8 p.m.
Terminal 5, 610 West 56th Street (between West 56th and West 55th streets); 212-582-6600.

Let's Get Psychical—For one night only, Brooklyn will connect with London with performance art, a video screening, and art exhibition. Somewhere in the nebula that joins art with party, the Saint Cecilia Convent will come alive with visual and aural stimuli, using attendees minds and bodies as part of this experimental art project. Cool Britannia indeed.
Physical Centre: Brooklyn, Saturday, November 20, 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Saint Cecilia Convent, 21 Monitor Street (between Herbert and Richardson streets).

Couch Potato—There's more to beating the winter chill than shopping (although it helps). Try some eye popping colors and joyful patterns, for instance! Maya Hayuk's fanciful exhibition opens this weekend, and the artist's large-scale murals are the perfect visual for ridding yourself of the winter blues. Semi-interactive, the exhibition invites viewers to to sit on beanbags and meditate over the art-almost as good as Ben & Jerry's and Bridget Jones.
Maya Hayuk: Heavy Light, Saturday, November 20, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Cinders Gallery, 103 Havemeyer Street (between Hope and Grand streets).

PS111—Let's face it- sometimes, no matter what's going on outside, no matter how scandalous the sales might be, we all need some down time. When the degrees start to plummet and the rain starts to fall, what better way is there to spend a weekend than indoors by yourself, with your honey or with some girlfriends, pottering around the house? 'Honestly... WTF?' blog has a great DIY Proenza Schouler rope necklace to give you some stay-at-home creative inspiration for the weekend ahead. And you'll still have something new and super cute to wear to the office on Monday.
