Thakoon Goes Prints Charming for His Spring Awakening

thakoon-spring-2010-1
It's little wonder that Thakoon Panichgul is such a favorite among the denizens of 4 Times Square. His sometimes elegant, sometimes madcap use of florals and other prints could bring a smile to even the most hardened nastie's face. Naturally, the heads of all the likely mags were here, along with a healthy representation of the ladies who will actually be paying full price for these bright concoctions. For Thakoon, spring/summer 2010 featured more ragged, slouchy creations and a smattering of athletic-inspired wares--a change for this designer who often opts for flowing fabrics when the weather gets hot. But don't for a moment think the designer's given up on careful construction. The latter half of the line features compositions of ribbed triangles and other geometric tricks, making bold flourishes out of the structure of the dress itself. Above all this architecture, it's the choice of materials you remember, and no one picks a print quite like Panichgul.
