Rodarte Becomes Eclectic: The Mulleavy Sisters Turn DJs

That's right, radio listeners—Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, who have always leaned heavily on cinema for inspiration, opened up to the staff at L.A.'s eternally wonderful KCRW about their musical tastes, playing DJs for a five-song set. Their choices, which included the Doors, Elvis, and—um—the theme from Star Wars were played on the long-running AM show Morning Becomes Eclectic, and can be heard along with an interview here. Alas, it may not be the most head-nodding way to round out your Friday (we have to depend on others for that), but it's still a great window into the sister's minds and proof that they're nowhere near as gothy or witchy-poo as some would make them out to be. PS—Lovin' that Tom Petty! (KCRW)
