This Is Our Jam: Radiation City, “Find It Of Use”

About a year ago we posted Radiation City’s “The Color of Industry,” a girl group-inspired track that deserved a lot more attention than it got. Now, the Portland band has announced their second EP, Cool Nightmare, with beautiful first single “Find It Of Use.”
“Find It Of Use” sees lead singer Lizzy Ellison’s quavering voice reaching new levels of intensity as moments of tender control give way to belting that feels legitimately dangerous. Whether backed by shoegaze guitars or loungey finger snaps, Ellison is equal parts torch singer and concert hall diva. With Ellison's vocals as the centerpiece, Radiation City intertwine multiple eras of pop to create maximum drama — you could call their sound vintage, but the better word is timeless.
