Rad Or Bad: Are These Gold Sandals Great Or Geriatric?

We're loving this return of the comfortably chic shoe, and from cushy boots to sensible heel heights, we're enjoying saying adieu to vertiginous stilettos. Unless, of course, the chic part starts to dissolve and all we're left with is an awkward, mid-height heel, a brassy finish, and thick "Fashion Sandal" straps. We would have just dismissed these as a misstep into the orthopedic section of the web-store, except for these stores are some one of our favorites—A.P.C. and J.Crew—and while they might not be on the cusp of edgy, tween fashion, they aren't exactly our grandmothers' go-to store for Palm Spring apparel either. But are we too prejudiced? Are these gold numbers darling, or made for the dentures-wearing set?
