We know Sine Qua Non has several locations, when and where can we find you?
"I'm at our Lincoln Park location on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., and on Tuesdays from 5 to 9 p.m. I'm in West Town on Fridays from 11 a.m. to -7 p.m. (and some Saturdays). I'm always in Lakeview on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m."

What do you typically charge for a cut?

"Men's haircuts are $33, and women's start at $44."

What made you decide to pursue your career?

"I always knew I wanted to do something artistic and creative. When I found out my friends in NYC were hairstylists, I saw the creative things they were doing with hair. I knew from then on out I wanted to be a hairstylist."

What is your favorite cut to see on a woman?
"I don’t have a particular favorite. During every consultation, I like to find out about my client's lifestyle, what their hair routine is, and what would work best with the shape of their face. I like to see cuts on women that are flattering and that bring out their features."

What hair advice do you give your male friends?
"You can’t get up in the morning and expect it to look perfect–you have to use product. Some products I recommend are Bumble and bumble's Grooming Creme for finer mens hair and a more polished look, and their sumotech for a more piecey, messy look."

What is the biggest hair mistake you see women make over and over again?
"Women trying to cut their own hair–uneven bangs and layers. Also, when clients try to fight against their natural texture."

What is the strangest hair request you've ever had?
"There is no strange request when it comes to hair. I like it all–from classic, to modern, to creative."
