Haute Hollywood: Armani Does Costumes For Cate Blanchett’s New Flick

We all remember Givenchy’s costumes for Funny Face and who can forget the gorgeously luxe Jil Sander by Raf Simons looks on Tilda Swinton in I Am Love. Here’s another designer-cinema collaborator you may not be as familiar with: Giorgio Armani. The Italian fashion house has worked on film wardrobes for Gattaca, The Dark Knight, and American Gigilo, and it looks like Mr. Armani is back on the big screen this weekend with Hanna, the Joe Wright-directed thriller. According to FashionRules, all of Cate Blanchett’s costumes were created by Armani—which makes perfect sense considering Blanchett’s friendship with Giorgio's neice, Roberta Armani. So, for those of us who love film, fashion, and any crossover between the two, this is just another reason to head to the Arclight on Friday night.
