There’s No Code Word Necessary At This Gorg New Speakeasy!

If you love nothing more than dusting off that drop-waisted, flapper-inspired frock and sipping a stiff Old Fashioned, the new Emerson Theatre will likely become your new nighttime go-to. Located at Hollywood and La Brea, SBE (you know, the folks that have brought us so many swanky locations like The Bazaar by José Andrés) teamed up with designer Mark Zeff, who gave '20s glamour a modern twist with mood-setting marquee lights, grand staircases, and a mirrored-glass DJ booth. Whoever said roaring soirées should stay put in the Prohibition days was totally wrong!
Plus, if you're feeling frisky, you can gawk at the burlesque dancers topping multiple stages, snuggle up on the cozy couch seating, or bust out your best Charleston on the dance floor. Open from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, bottle service and private events are also available for all you high rollers. We’re hoping there’s a fellow or two channeling Leo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby (if you haven’t seen the trailer yet, it's a must!), because we'll be there in our best Daisy Buchanan getup.
The Emerson Theatre, 7080 Hollywood Boulevard (at North La Brea Avenue); 323-525-5453.
