Designer Brands Have Their Own Baby Boom With Adult-Sized Price-Tags

If you haven't been aware of the Hollywood baby boom in the last few years, you're not just living under a rock—you're living on another planet altogether. It seems as though every celebrity under the sun has either had their first child or added to their brood in the past three years or so, and the inevitable question is: Who's going to dress these red-carpet tots? As a result, fashion is having its own baby boom right now, only this one is coming without swollen ankles and pickle cravings. Rather, the likes of Fendi, Gucci, Burberry, Stella McCartney, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior, and Marc Jacobs are now producing children's clothing (or have been for a while), while Missoni, Lanvin, and Versace will be joining them within the next year. Just because the clothes are smaller doesn't mean the price tag is—you can expect to shell out over $3,000 for some of these items, which your child will likely outgrow within a few months of purchase. Then again, maybe we're just jealous—that sweet, ruffled Lanvin dress is a far cry from the hot-pink, cat-emblazoned sweatsuits we remember wearing as a child. Some kids just get all the luck.
