While the fashion world baits its breath and waits for Phoebe Philo's June '09 debut for Celine, the label turned to its team of designers for a fall '09 collection which definitely proved that things are on the up 'n up at Celine. There's a vintage vibe at work in trapeze coats with big gold buttons, Crayola colored caplets, and boxy tweed jackets—not to mention we're kind of loving their luxe leather beret/newsboy cap hybrid. Do we detect an element of Bonnie and Clyde in the mix? For a house that had as little identity pre-Philo as Celine, this moment in time couldn't be bigger for them.
