Trouble’s Brewing For Bill Cosby’s Walk Of Fame Star

Bill Cosby's in more hot water, but this time it's with the residents of Los Angeles. As we all well know, the comedian has more than 40 allegations of sexual assault and rape against him, spurring residents to demand the removal of his star from Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame — but the organization that controls the star is saying no. As the L.A. Times reports, a growing number of advocacy-group leaders from organizations like the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable and Project Islamic Hope are requesting the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the group that controls the Walk of Fame, to promptly remove the star. Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, declined an interview with us and issued this statement: “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark. Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.” Which prompts the question: Will residents take the star's fate into their own hands? Of course, it won't be the first time. In December, Cosby's star was vandalized with the word "rapist," but quickly cleaned up, as reported by CBS News. The star was placed on Hollywood Boulevard in 1977, but its days may be numbered.
