What This Restaurant Owner Is Doing For Homeless People Will Inspire You

Normally, we'd be bummed out to hear a local restaurant was opting out of Restaurant Week – that delicious week when upscale restaurants serve lower cost prix-fixe meals – but Michael Tabrizi of Tabrizi's is doing something incredible. Instead of trying to bring in new customers, Tabrizi's restaurant is skipping Baltimore’s Restaurant Week, which will take place from July 20 to 25, partner with local homeless shelters and feed those who need a meal. The restaurant will feed 150 people every night of restaurant week for free, ABC News Baltimore reports. While Tabrizi's normally serves Mediterranean cuisine, the generous owner told People that for this event, the restaurant will serve Cordon Bleu with sage cream and salad on fine china, sparking apple cider in a champagne flute and ice cream in a waffle cup for dessert. "I think these people are really forgotten," he told People. "Nobody looks them in the eye anymore. These people lost everything, but that doesn’t make them less human than others. I like to help them by feeding them. I don’t think they are hungry for nourishment, but more mental nourishment. They just need somebody to talk to them."
