Another Reason Drinking Can Be Good For You

We're wine fans — no matter how the bottle gets opened. And, red wine in particular is known to have some impressive health benefits. But, is it actually the magical elixir many claim it is? This video by Reactions tackles the myth that red wine (in moderation, of course) is the only alcoholic beverage that packs a healthy punch. As the video explains, ethanol, which is found in red wine, can help lower LDL, also known as "bad cholesterol." This is the reason the drink is celebrated as a preventer of heart disease. But, you can find ethanol in almost any alcoholic drink, which means you don't need to be drinking vino to get this perk. That said, some experts would argue that the possible health benefits of drinking don't necessarily outweigh the risks. So remember: If you do drink, it's best to do so in moderation. And, don't drink like a teenager.
