Major congrats are in order for Kendrick Lamar — but for so much more than his new album. This morning, the rapper confirmed his engagement to Whitney Alford, his high school sweetheart.
Lamar broke the happy news during his appearance on The Breakfast Club, New York's Power 105 morning radio show. When asked about the nuptial rumors about he and Alford, Lamar confirmed they're getting married.
"Yeah, definitely. I'm loyal to the soil," he told the hosts. "At the end of the day, you always wanna have real people around you," Lamar added.
Madame Noire pointed out that Alford was recently spotted with what looked like an engagement ring. In an interview with The New York Times last year, Lamar described her as someone who's been there "since day one."
