Meet the first girl in Little League World Series history to pitch a shutout game. Yep, she's pretty badass.
Yesterday, 13-year-old Mo'ne Davis struck out eight hitters in six innings during the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship. It was the Philadelphia native's second consecutive shutout. Scouts, are you listening?
“The nerves went away, and I just went out there and had fun,” the teen told the New York Times of her star performance. “I settled into the game as it went by. I got to know the umpire’s strike zone, so that helped me out a lot.”
Now, everyone from rapper Lil Wayne to sports heroes like Kevin Durant and Magic Johnson are showering praise on Davis. As Johnson wrote on Twitter, "Who says girls can't play baseball?"

Davis is only the fourth American girl to play in the Little League World Series. Dare we say her rock star example will inspire other girls to play ball?
“It’s very unreal,” Davis added. “I never thought that at the age of 13 I would be a role model, but now it’s real. I always wanted to be a basketball role model; being a baseball role model is really cool.”
