Girl Meets World Finally Gets A Premiere Date

Good news, Boy Meets World fans. The show's spinoff comedy, Girl Meets World, officially has a release date. Cory, Topanga, and their brood of rugrats will be coming to the small screen on June 27. If you're lucky enough to have access to the WATCH Disney Channel steaming platform, you'll be able to catch episodes starting May 21.
The network is also teasing way more of the show's storyline than it has previously, thanks to a new trailer. Cory and Topanga are living in New York City — they moved to the Big Apple in the series finale of Boy Meets World — and Cory is a teacher at daughter Riley's school. A school that looks eerily similar to John Adams high, it begs mentioning. Riley is an adorable pain in the butt (just like her dad), and Cory's still as endearingly neurotic.
Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are the only BMW alumni who make an appearance during the trailer, but the show's cast of characters mirrors the original. There's even an aggravating egghead who causes trouble for students and teachers — this time around, he goes by Farkle instead of Minkus. Girl Meets World appears to be slightly cheesier than its '90s predecessor, but that could be because it's technically targeted toward tweens and not the 20-something fans from last time around. Regardless, there's plenty of nostalgia to keep both generations happy.
