Philip Seymour Hoffman, the man who's been nominated for four Academy Awards and is critically thought of as one of the most powerful actors of our time, was found dead today, Sunday, February 2, reports The Wall Street Journal. Hoffman has played some of the most challenging and intriguing roles in classic movies like Boogie Nights, The Master, and The Big Lebowski. Very few details have emerged at this point, so we can't deliver any cause of death. The actor was found in his Manhattan apartment. He was 46 years old.
Hoffman was currently wrapping up the second part of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. No information on whether his part as Plutarch Heavensbee will be present in the latter half of the film, but it's certainly a dark day for fans of the unique and wonderful actor.
