And, now we can see it develop visually in the new coffee-table book Design Brooklyn: Renovation, Restoration, Innovation by Anne Hellman. With more than 150 photos, it gives a well-rounded view of the cultural and neighborhood trends and shifts, and illustrates both residential and commercial interiors and exteriors. It's basically pure eye candy for anyone who loves decorating or architecture. We flipped through the whole thing, cover to cover, in one sitting. And, while it's impossible to choose favorites, we love Flavor Paper's office in Boerum Hill, Beastie Boy Mike D.'s townhouse, and the sweet (and delicious) restaurant Rucola. There is just so much inspiration here.
