Another Thursday, another sad, gray day...or is it? Happily, it also happens to be the day after the premiere of Keira Knightley's new film, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, which means that we have one crazy-beautiful makeup look to unpack. Let's get into it, shall we?
First of all, we must acknowledge Miss Knightley was born to wear a smoky eye. With her warm, soulful brown eyes, thick brows, and killer bone structure, this girl has all of the traits needed to balance really dark eye makeup (which she sports often and with panache). So, when we first saw this image, we figured she was simply rocking another version of her signature look. And then our minds were blown: Girl straight-up hit the red carpet with full-on indigo-denim blue eye makeup.

Seriously, have you ever seen blue shadow look this good? We don't think we have. Blue is one of those tricky looks to pull off — it's really, really hard to shake the '80s Dallas connotations — but we think that Knightley might have convinced us for good to ditch our black shadow for cerulean, and completely surround our eyes with it. Like a badass.
Keira's makeup artist, Kate Lee, used a double hit of indigo to create the look. She began by surrounding the actress's eyes completely with Chanel Le Crayon Kohl Intense Eye Pencil in Marine, both inside and outside the lash lines. Next, Lee applied Chanel Illusion Ombré in Apparition to soften and smoke out the lines. To set off the bold eyes, Lee simply brushed Keira's brows, added a hint of pink on lips and cheeks, and finished with black mascara. Simple, but absolutely striking.
Readers, tell us below: Are you feeling Keira's bold blue look as much as we are? And, has it convinced you to rock deep blue shadow?
