With Prism sitting pretty on top of the iTunes charts, Katy Perry decided to share the joy with her fans. What really went into some of those less-than-joyful songs? Was John Mayer the inspiration behind it all? Perry kept it open and honest with her Twitter followers during an impromptu Q&A session last night.
Turns out, our view of the album wasn't too far off from Perry's. She explained that it's a compilation of "self reflection, love & light..." and one that "shines" and explores the "many different sides" of her — which we can wholeheartedly attest to. Lucky for us, we can cut down our speculation on what the singer is referring to in some of the tracks.

"Dark Horse," the one track off the album that veers from the bubbly-pop aesthetic, was oddly influenced by The Craft: "[Dark Horse] is like someone falling in love with a witch! Influenced by the movie The Craft!" How trap-pop and The Craft fit together is a mystery to us, but whatever element she pulled from the film worked. Perry didn't divulge much on the upcoming tour, but if Nancy, Bonnie, Sarah, and Rochelle were of any influence (or just the '90s in general), expect chokers — lots and lots of chokers. (MTV)
