Olive & June owner Sarah Gibson Tuttle might just be the best psychic we’ve ever met. How else could she have known exactly what we’ve been looking for in a nail salon before we even knew it? This perfectly polished entrepreneur recently traded in her NYC roots and decade-long finance career for the sunny skies of Beverly Hills. While prepping to move west, she “must have tried 50 different nail salons,” she says, but couldn’t find one that delivered an affordable, high-quality mani in a gorgeous atmosphere. So, she created one herself. Now that’s our kind of girl!

While preparing to move from NYC, I came to LA often to interview and visit friends. As a girl who loves a great mani, I started to scope out where "my spot" would be. I must have tried 50 different nail salons in the process. No one had a favorite -- every recommendation I got people would say "Well, I go to this place but they are just OK." One day a light bulb went off and I realized that the only way to have a place that my friends and I loved going to was to create it.
Tell us a little about your background prior to launching the salon?
I worked in finance for ten years (JP Morgan & Morgan Stanley's trading desks) and in my ninth year, I knew I had to make a change. Although I absolutely loved my clients, I didn't feel a connection with the underlying product.
Photo: Courtesy of Olive & JuneHow did you end up working with Tenoversix's Brady Cunningham and Kristen Lee?"I was desperate to find a team who could deliver a space to me that felt in line with my vision but took it to the next level. I met with many designers and architecture teams, but nothing stuck. From our very first meeting, Brady and Kristen totally understood what I wanted. They could take many of the practical details that were really important to me and they had so many great, creative, amazing new ideas on how to make the space come together in a way that was even better than I had imagined."
What should we look forward to next from Olive & June?
"Special collaborations with some of our favorite brands and ambassadors are coming in the next few months."
