We say record announcement, you say Samsung commercial, to-may-to, to-mah-to, right? Apparently, the two are officially one in the same as Jay-Z used three minutes of airtime during the NBA finals last night to announce his forthcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail, to be released July 4.
And though it opens with him talking on a cell phone, the sneak peek inside his studio has got us totally excited. Working with buds like Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and Rick Rubin, Jay is making the "new rules" for hip-hop, music that is all about "emotion." So, excuse us, while we go get totally emotional waiting on pins and needles for this album to drop. (Rolling Stone)
