Thoughts And Prayers With Santa Monica This Weekend

Gunfire broke out late Friday morning as an armed man shot and killed four people in Santa Monica, lighting a house on fire with two of his deceased victims inside before fleeing to the nearby Santa Monica College campus and dying in a police shootout.

President Obama was attending a private Democratic fund raiser not far from the scene, though there is no current word on whether or not the shooting was related in any way. The New York Times has an aggregation of reportage from various sources here, as well as a detailed account here.
