The National, Patti Smith, & More Awesome Shows This Week

1

The National, Youth Lagoon: Barclays Center, June 5, $49.50
The National has been a stadium-sized rock band for years now, so it makes a perfect sense that it's headlining an actual stadium. The Brooklyn brooders will be supported by Youth Lagoon, whose intimate anhedonia should be a good warm-up before frontman Matt Berninger and company take the stage.

Wednesday, June 5, 8 p.m., Barclays Center, 620 Atlantic Avenue (at Flatbush Avenue); Brooklyn; 212-359-6387.

Adult., Black Marble, Eraas, YOU: 285 Kent, June 8, $12
Electro-punk duo Adult. are out with their first new album in more than five years. True to form, its filled with the aggressively warped pop that made the band famous and we can't wait to hear the new songs live.
Saturday, June 8, 8 p.m., 285 Kent, 285 Kent Ave (between South 1st and South 2nd streets); Brooklyn; 718-599-1450.

The Governors Ball: Kanye West, Beach House, The xx, Guns N' Roses, Animal Collective, Feist, Crystal Castles, The Avett Brothers, Kings of Leon, Grizzly Bear, Kendrick Lamar, The Lumineers, Bloc Party, Beirut, Yeasayer, and more: Randall's Island, June 7, 8, and 9, $220
With an awesomely eclectic lineup, this year's Governors Ball is a can't-miss festival right in our own backyard. While we're most excited to see Kanye on Sunday (we're hoping for an in-depth preview of Yeezus), each day has its own good stuff to offer. Where else can you catch Nas and Guns 'N Roses in the same night?
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June 7, 8, and 9, 12 p.m., Randall's Island, New York.
