There are so many plus-size brands that stick with the basics; the same stuff you purchased last year still sits on the shelves and
fills websites. Evans, a U.K.-based specialty-size brand is adamant about doing things differently.
While Evans' bread and butter might be those classic styles you've
come to expect, it has accomplished things that no other plus label has. From its launch of CUT for Evans to its groundbreaking runway show
during London Fashion Week last September, Evans has taken risks and reaped the rewards. And, it's not slowing down: The
latest installment of the CUT is its most appealing yet. CUT for Evans
is an opportunity for design students to
bring their collections to the masses. Season after season, the brand jumpstarts young designers' careers. Its latest
talent is Yvonne Shu Yao, a Nottingham Trent student who wowed the
judges with her underwater-inspired collection, available at Evans on February

the brand's trailblazing show, strutting alongside creations from established designers like Giles Deacon and Clements
Ribeiro. “To see my designs open the Evans show at London Fashion Week was like
a dream come true,” gushed Yao. “Seeing such a positive reaction from everyone
at the show was one of the proudest moments for me and one that I will always

pinnacle of most designers' careers, Yao is just getting started. “I would
definitely include expanded sizes when I design my own line,” she said. “I have
learned so much from working on this collection and would love to continue
creating fashion-forward yet wearable styles for all shapes and sizes."
