Chloe Sevigny Joins Amanda Seyfried To Update A South Florida Classic

After the surprising loss of Demi Moore as Gloria Steinem, we’ve discovered that one of our favorite actresses/fashion icons/models, Miss Chloe Sevigny, is joining Amanda Seyfried, James Franco, and Peter Sarsgaard in the much-talked about Lovelace film. The fictionalized biopic is about the eponymous porn star Linda Lovelace, who starred in the X-rated film that shocked the world, Deep Throat (which stars this very town — or the surrounding areas anyway — as its smutty backdrop). Lovelace's legacy is a difficult one: After Deep Throat, she became a staunch activist against the pornography industry, which is where her relation to Steinem comes in.

And while Sevigny isn't afraid of controversy (Brown Bunny, anyone), she isn't tackling Steinem, but is instead being tapped to play a journalist hired to write the story on Linda. While very few details have been released about the ever-shifting cast and how Lovelace will be portrayed, we're glad Los Angeles, not Miami, gets to play the seedy city, this time around.
Oh, and late-breaking news — the role of Steinem is apparently going to none other than Carrie Bradshaw SJP herself. Feminist icon indeed.
