We're Crushing Over BIN 36s' Wine Classes (This Weekend!)

mainThe weekend has arrived, and more likely than not, you will probably enjoy some vino with dinner. If you're the type to choose a wine based on the look of the bottle (guilty as charged), or the color ("I'll take the white one!"), let us make a suggestion.

While we absolutely love the food at BIN 36, we immediately think of the River North restaurant as a destination to get a glass of really great wine — with expert advice to go along with it. In fact, you need not have a full-blown meal here. Just position yourself at the bar with a cheese platter and start grilling the staff about the myriad of vintages available.

But why not learn a few fermentation factoids yourself? It's time for another season of BIN School classes, which begins this Sunday with the basics: Wine 101 — Getting Friendly With Your Bottle. Wine Director Brian Duncan will teach you everything from the nitty-gritty of the different types of grapes to how to read a wine bottle. Of course, there will be tastings just to make sure you're really, um, soaking up all the fabulous info.

The cost of the class is $45 per person and takes place in BIN 36's Loft space. Come early, or stay late and receive 20% off dinner the day of the class. Space is limited, so reserve your spot on the BIN 36 website.

BIN 36, 339 North Dearborn Street (at Hubbard), 312-755-9463.
