The Selkirk Lighthouse was built in 1838 to guard the Salmon River Harbor on Lake Ontario. The light is incredibly unique; not only is it one of the last left with the historic "birdcage" lantern design, but it also sits on top of the main quarters instead of being housed in a separate structure.
