Jessica Jones Is The Bad Girl’s Superhero In New Trailer

If you're looking for a female superhero that’s a little rougher around the edges than the perky Kara Zor-El of CBS's Supergirl, Netflix seemingly has the solution. Meet Jessica Jones of Jessica Jones. A new teaser for the Marvel show introduces us — sort of — to Jessica. The teaser begins at 2:59 p.m. The camera pans over a messy bedroom-floor, clothes are scattered everywhere, and there's an empty bottle of what looks to be some sort of whisky. Then Jessica's alarm goes off — at 3 p.m. — and she promptly crushes the clock. We like this lady already. Jessica is played by Krysten Ritter, star of the gone-far-too-soon sitcom Don't Trust The B----- in Apartment 23. And while we loved Ritter on Don't Trust The B---- so much that we are game for pretty much whatever she does, we're also highly intrigued by the show's interpretation of Jessica. According to Netflix's description on YouTube, her character is working as a detective following a "tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint." At the Television Critics Association press tour this past summer, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg called Jessica an "incredibly flawed, damaged and interesting character regardless of gender," Entertainment Weekly reported.
The show premieres Nov. 20.
