It's a great start to the weekend for One Direction fans. The boy band (or are they a man band, now that one's about to be a dad?) dropped a surprise new single on Thursday night . Fans were alerted to the new track by Liam Payne, who tweeted, "Bit of a surprise ! Check out our new single! It’s called Drag Me Down & I hope you love it as much as we do." The rest of the One Direction crew followed suit, with Louis Tomlinson tweeting out the song's Spotify link.
"Drag Me Down" is already No. 1 on iTunes less than 24 hours after it dropped. The release marks a new milestone for the group, as the first single released since their five-man band became four. Zayn Malik left the band last March to start his solo career. Fans already seem taken with the song, though some remain forlorn at the loss of Malik. While one fan review on iTunes reads, "They're nothing without Zayn," another excited fan wrote, "Anything made by these boys is amazing." The band has yet to announce a release date for their fifth album.
