Paul Rudd has been married for 12 years to wife Julie Yaeger, with whom he has two young children. And yet, since that night when he rescued Cher (Alicia Silverstone) from her awful ride home with Elton (Jeremy Sisto), Rudd hasn't stopped making us fall in love with him. Seriously, guy, you're killing us.

Not even his stints starring in countless bro comedies or taking on Marvel's most ridiculously named superhero could dull our adoration. It's like he just can't help doing silly dances with air instruments, or being endearingly self-effacing in interviews, or making out with Helen Mirren for one second. If only he would go and make a sexist comment, or mutter something ungracious about a co-star, just to give the rest of the world a chance to live up to his high bar.

Nah. Just keep doing you, Paul. Whether you're shrinking yourself to the size of an ant in Ant-Man or being the world's worst camp boyfriend in the upcoming reprisal of Wet Hot American Summer for Netflix, we just can't stop loving you.

When Josh kissed Cher in Clueless.

Though he's a college-age hippie idealist and she's a Beverly Hills high school fashionista, the chemistry between the former step-siblings is palpable — and of course, anyone who knows this is a retelling of Emma can see this one coming. That doesn't make Paul Rudd's bumbling compliments and awkward kissing any less swoon-worthy.

When he played jerks to show us how jerky men are.

From his bad-boyfriend tantrums as Andy in Wet Hot American Summer, to his sleazy seductions as Brian Fantana in Anchorman, to his insult-method pick-up lessons as Alias on David Wain's Wainy Days web series, Rudd has never been afraid to play the worst kind of guy. Which makes us fall for him even harder, because his awareness of those stereotypes means he'd never be like those dudes in real life, right?

When he was The Object of My Affection and yours, too.

You may cringe at how close this movie comes to pondering whether being gay might be a choice (if only he moves in with the right girl!), but on the other hand, what woman or man in their right mind wouldn't fall in love with Rudd's sweet first-grade teacher George? We feel your pain, Jennifer Aniston. He is kind of perfect.

When he was the screensaver of our dreams.

This video doesn't do justice to the benefits of having Rudd's gorgeous mug floating around your screen every time you space out. Unfortunately, Funny or Die doesn't have the file available for download anymore, and also, no one uses screensavers. Let's just admire the level of self-awareness Rudd had about his dreamboat status to let them make this in the first place.

When he failed miserably at talking dirty to Malin Åkerman.

Admit it: "I'm going to throw down onto you with my testicles," is one of the best come-on lines you've ever heard. It's like his Wanderlust character's tongue is determined to make sure he's faithful to Jennifer Aniston.
