Rap magnate Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested yesterday after a fight reportedly broke out between him and a UCLA football coach, TMZ Sports reports. Sources say Combs had been attending a football practice during which the strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi allegedly yelled at Diddy's son, Justin, a defensive back on the team. According to TMZ's sources, Alosi "was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him." Combs, who has been described by UCLA staff as a "helicopter dad," confronted the coach in his office, where things allegedly turned physical. Though sources close to Diddy claim he acted in self-defense after Alosi threatened violence first, at one point Diddy grabbed a kettlebell. It's disputed whether he swung the kettlebell at Alosi or used it as protection. Sources also claim that Diddy insisted on calling the police before the situation spun out of control. Security was eventually called, with campus police cuffing the rapper and transporting him to L.A. County jail. He has since been charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats, and one count of battery, the L.A. Times reports. He was released after posting $50,000 bail this morning, according to TMZ. The incident was reportedly caught on video. Whether the footage will vindicate Diddy or not remains to be seen. In the meantime, UCLA head coach Jim Mora is calling yesterday's skirmish "an unfortunate incident for all parties involved."
