It looks like Kristen Stewart has found the audience that is
truly willing to let Twilight go and admire her for more than just her chemistry with an ex: the French. On Friday, the actress made
history, becoming the first American woman to take home a Cesar, the French
version of the Oscar, for her supporting role in Clouds of Sils Maria. Something tells us this might take a more prominent space on her shelves than
her Best Kiss MTV Movie Awards or her Razzies.
Judging just by the trailer for Clouds of Sils Maria, she does much more than her Bella Swan shrugging and lip-biting in her role as
the assistant to a faded French actress (Juliette Binoche). So, now that she's
receiving legitimate kudos, what's next? Another movie in France.
"The reasons why people make films here in France
are very different from the reasons why people make movies in Hollywood and I
prefer it here a little bit," she told Variety backstage at the Cesars,
without revealing what that next movie might be. Like Benjamin Franklin and
Jerry Lewis before her, KStew could make a nice career in a land that
appreciates her more than her own these days. Plus, it's France. Getting paid to spend
more time in the country sounds like a pretty good perk. Go get yours, lady.
