Though the idea of Hollywood's brutality is nothing new, there's a peculiar sense of relief that comes when a celebrity advises against even getting into show biz — as if it was a mistake.

Keira Knightley opens up about that very subject in U.K. Glamour's November issue cover story. "I certainly wouldn't recommend it," she says regarding whether she'd let her future daughter go into acting. "Even if you're successful," she continues, "you still have to go through a shitload of rejection."
The Laggies actress knows this rejection firsthand. She recalls how her looks have not landed her jobs (and how they have — Chanel being one). But, rather than beat herself up over what doesn't happen, she's learned that to make it in any profession, you "have to prove [yourself] again and again."

On the edge of her twenties, Knightley has stopped caring about the where-she's-supposed-to-bes. "The shit that makes you very unhappy early on" doesn't hold the actress back. Turning 30 is nothing to worry about, she says. Indeed. And, when you're happy in a marriage that "feels pretty good," what more can you ask for?
"Well done me," Knightley says. Yes, Keira. Well done you. (Glamour)
