Fresh off the heels of its Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon announcement, Netflix confirmed it will release four original Adam Sandler movies.
Sandler will star in and produce four films for the streaming hit service. "People love Adam's films on Netflix and often watch them again and again," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer, to MTV News. "His appeal spans across viewers of all ages — everybody has a favorite movie, everyone has a favorite line — not just in the U.S. but all over the world." There's no arguing Sandler is embedded into the childhood memories of most millennials.

Keeping in line with his silly brand of comedy, Sandler claims the reason for his signing on with Netflix was quite simple. "When these fine people came to me with an offer to make four movies for them, I immediately said yes for one reason and one reason only: Netflix rhymes with wet chicks," he told MTV news. "Let the streaming begin!"
There once was a time when a film's bypass of the theater was a sign of its low quality. Straight-to-video (or straight-to-DVD) was once the hallmark of a flop. But, the times are a-changin'. Netflix and Sandler are a powerhouse combination.
