This morning MTV took to Snapchat to announce this year's nominees for their Video Music Awards and, predictably, Beyoncé topped the list. After revolutionizing the music video game with her visual, self-titled album released late last year, Queen Bey earned a whopping eight nods, including the coveted video of the year nomination for "Drunk in Love."
Come August 24, Beyoncé will also be up for best female video for "Partition." She'll be going up against the likes of Lorde, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, and Iggy Azalea, who earned seven total nods for her song of the summer contender "Fancy."
VMA veteran Eminem also earned seven nominations, but will not have the opportunity to steal Bey's thunder in the video of the year category. The remaining artists joining Beyoncé in the prize fight will be Azalea for the aforementioned "Fancy", Pharrell for “Happy,” Sia for “Chandelier” and Miley Cyrus for “Wrecking Ball.”

Confirmed performers for the big night already include Ariana Grande, Usher and 5 Seconds of Summer. With Beyoncé expected to have a huge night, you can bet she'll be on hand to belt out a tune or two as well.
