The critically-acclaimed role of Jesse Pinkman put Paul on the map, and he's now collecting his fair share of IMDb listings. His first post-Breaking Bad gig is starring in Need For Speed, a big-budget action flick centered around the underground racing world. The film held its Los Angeles premiere this week, so naturally we had to head down to Mann's Chinese to show our support for our favorite meth cooker.
Paul spends most of the movie around cars — fixing them, driving them, admiring them, you name it. Most fans were fascinated by his stuntwork, but we couldn't stop comparing his Need For Speed scenes to the legendary last shot of Breaking Bad. As it turns out, we're not alone in our nostalgia. "I never get tired of being asked about Breaking Bad," the actor told reporters on the red carpet. "I think Breaking Bad's awesome."
When we got within asking distance, we just had to inquire about his favorite episode of the series. "I'd have to say "4 Days Out," Paul said, referring to the disastrous episode from season 2. "I don't know, there's something about it — Bryan [Cranston] and I being stuck in the desert just trying to make our way out. And, Jesse thinking and believing they're actually going to build a robot is just so endearing."
We now have all the justification we need to stretch out the post-BrBa mourning period for as long as humanly possible. And, even though Aaron might be missing his time on the Albuquerque set, it's safe to say he's getting on just fine thanks to his growing fame — and his gorgeous wife. The newlyweds arrived at the premiere together — in a vintage Ford straight from the Need For Speed collection, no less — and spent the evening gushing. We even overheard his lucky bride telling partygoers that he's "Like a real-life Romeo." Cute. Overload.
