When it comes to gender equality, unfortunately, there's still a long battle to fight. Fortunately, beauty powerhouse Bobbi Brown is doing her part to further women's causes with her Pretty Powerful campaign, which provides young women with the education and job skills they need to find success in a still (sadly) man-centric world.
As the founder of a beauty company that's famous for its natural-beauty-enhancing products, Brown believes at her core that a confident woman is a powerful woman. “Pretty Powerful is a campaign that focuses on confidence,” explains the CCO, “And nothing makes a woman or girl feel more confident than being educated and having the knowledge and skills to better her life, and the lives of her family and community members.”
In honor of International Women's Day on March 8, Bobbi Brown will debut Pretty Powerful Mascara (a lengthening-defining-volumizing wunderkind) in a limited-edition pink tube for $25 in the U.S., U.K., South Africa, and Korea. One hundred percent (that's right a full one hundred) of the proceeds will go to the Pretty Powerful Campaign, which will in turn be donated to location-specific charities that provide educational, occupational, and health support to women and girls. In the US, the funds will benefit The Girl Rising Fund, which provides resources to girl-empowerment programs in the developing world.
So, if you're due for a new mascara (and, considering you're supposed to toss your tube every three months, we'd guess that you probably are), we'd like to encourage you to get your bums to your local Bobbi Brown counter to snatch up one of these pretty pink tubes in support of our fellow woman — because, with the right resources, women's possibilities for success are endless.
