Although Radar Online had previously reported that Rebel Wilson was on the verge of signing a spokeswoman gig for either Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers, today, the gossip rag is reporting that in fact, Wilson and fellow actress Melissa McCarthy have an informal pact to stay just as they are. According to an anonymous source, “Neither one of them is trying to lose weight and they’ve formed this little support group to keep each other from falling into the skinny Hollywood trap.”
The "source" does make the point that if these women wanted to lose weight, they could do so more easily than most women. As world-famous celebrities, they have cash to spare for top-of-the-line support, but for now, it seems that neither star is giving into the tired pressures of Hollywood. Whether or not Radar's source has clout, both actresses have indeed spoken out about body image in the past, and both seem to have an even-keeled, realistic view on the subject.
Honestly, though? The thing that really interests us here is a potential friendship between two talented and hilarious women. We would love to get in on that. (Radar Online)
