The Best Undereye Concealer Isn't Actually A Concealer

Certain beauty products — think NARS blush in Orgasm, Clinique's Black Honey lipstick — are so good, they're practically famous. And, while we do love so many of those well-known, well-loved products, we wonder why others have been quietly flying under the radar. With that in mind, meet our new beauty series, Cult Classics, in which we'll introduce you to the products you really, truly should know about (and try, like, right now). They're not brand new, but trust us: They've got staying power.

Over our many collective years as beauty editors, we've become quite the undereye-concealer connoisseurs. When you spend as many hours as we do writing about braids, lipsticks, and celebrity haircuts, you tend to rack up more than a few sleepless nights, and the puffy, tired, dark-circled gaze that goes with them.

So, you can imagine our surprise when we found that the very best undereye concealer we've ever tried isn't actually a concealer after all. Dr. Perricone's No Concealer Concealer (massive life points for the marketing whiz behind that concept) is a tinted eye cream and primer in one — sort of like a BB cream for your eyes. While it provides all the coverage and brightening of a concealer, it technically is an eye cream.

We love it because it's got both SPF 35 and anti-aging ingredients like neuropeptides and vitamin C ester. While we have no problem getting our eye care in at night, we find that most eye creams we use in the a.m. cause our makeup to slip/slide off our face by lunchtime. As much as we like having mascara half-moons on our cheekbones, it's not really our most flattering look. This genius cover-up will actually help your makeup adhere to the skin, working as a crease-proof primer to keep the shadow and line in place.

In short, No Concealer Concealer does a bang-up job of covering those dark circles, hydrating our eye era, protecting our skin, making our eye makeup last longer, and keeping fine lines and wrinkles at bay. We don't throw the phrase "miracle product" around often, but in the case of this multitasker, it's warranted.
