Rita Ora may well be the frighteningly young popular girl in pop right now, but it wasn’t always that way. Speaking out about her cracking the industry, she admits it took her six attempts before anyone really took her seriously. Eesh, those six issuers of rejection must be kicking themselves now.
Since making it in the mainstream with "Hot Right Now" back in 2012, Ora has subsequently stormed the charts, sung at the Olympics, fronted Madonna’s clothing campaign, become the inseparable “wifey” of Cara Delevingne, and established herself as a regular on the U.K festival circuit, playing at the likes of Glasto, V Festival, Wireless, and T in the Park this summer.
Sharing her story in an interview ahead of her Sony Xperia Access gig in London, Ora says, "There were a lot of times where I thought this was going to be it and then it doesn't happen." She added, "It happened to me about six times, so when this actually finally happened, I really didn't expect it to at all…I can't believe I'm doing my second album already. To me it's like, 'Finally, thank you for just giving me the chance.’” Well, you know what they say; seventh time’s a charm. (Digital Spy)
