As much as we love big, loud, statement-making clothes, we never forget that a great outfit must be built upon a great foundation—quality underpinnings. Trust us, a properly fitting bra can make all the difference. So, we pretty much worship at the feet of Araks Yeramyan, the lovely lady behind the eponymous lingerie (and, since 2006, ready-to-wear) line. The designer's clean, minimalist inclinations are in full force with her spring '11 collection, which allows the impeccable construction of each piece to shine. The line is more sensual than overtly sexy, featuring sheer accents, unexpected cutouts, and ultra-flattering silhouettes. We love that the mix of bright, primary colors and dark, moodier shades and prints mean there's something for everyone, no matter what your body type or personality. In addition to the unique yet totally wearable lingerie, Araks created a lookbook that's a piece of art in its own right: She sent out lingerie sets and disposable cameras to a diverse group of stylists, designers, artists, and other fashion types (including T Magazine's Sally Singer, Barneys' former fashion director Julie Gilhart, and Elle Italia editor Eva Fontanelli) and let them go buck wild. The result is varied, insanely gorgeous art that showcases the versatility of the pieces and the personal style of the photographers—oh, and makes us lust after every last bra, panty, and tank.
